Commemorating AC2012
These coins were minted to commemorate the Aleister Crowley 2012 campaign, which you can explore on this website. Be sure to like the coins on Facebook, to get any news or updates about the coins.
Coin Design

Reverse, copper plated zinc coin. Looks like a new penny! And like a penny, it will develop a unique patina over time. Of the different metals, though they all have their appeal, this one looks & feels the most like real currency.
The coins have a diameter of 1.125″. This is a little larger than a U.S. quarter dollar, and about 2mm smaller than a half dollar.
The front of the coin features the embossed AC2012 design with the bust of Aleister Crowley.
The reverse is stamped with the Mark of the Beast and the traditional greetings of Thelemites, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law,” and “Love is the law, love under will.” These are verses from the principal holy book of Thelema, Liber AL vel Legis: The Book of the Law.
We have minted the coin with variations:
- different metals;
- some with and some without reeding on the edges;
- in some cases with the reverse rotated 180 degrees.
Coin Metals

Obverse, nickel plated brass coin. This coin has a mirror-like finish which does not show up well in this photo.

- 260 Brass with Nickel Plate
- 230 Brass (Red Brass, 85% Copper)

Reverse, red brass coin (85% copper). Aleister Crowley's design of the Mark of the Beast and the traditional Thelemic greetings appear on the reverse of the commemorative coin.

I’m penciling this in on my voting ballot, and will leave a coin for the booth operator. You call that democracy? I call it a painted reality. Don’t palm my hand with shit and call it a cupcake, I know better.
Um, what?
Super cool! I love my set, and I can’t wait for the … even rarer… precious metal version is available.
A dead, English, most wicked man in the world running for office? Bloody magic! =)
